Summer = Corn!!

One of my favorite summer traditions?? Eating sweet corn!!! Emersen and I headed to the Farmer's Market a couple of weeks ago in Martin to check out the corn supply.  While it wasn't Indiana sweet corn, we decided to give it a try.

As you can tell, Eme was just as excited as I was and she was quite the helper shucking it as well. :)

We had a great dinner from the Farmer's Market:  Sweet corn, tomatoes, and cucumbers! Yummy!

Emersen got to try Indiana sweet corn on a trip to visit Aunt Megan.  As you can tell, she is quite the corn pro!! That makes me so proud!!!

Cousin Time

Eme and I traveled up to Zionsville to visit Aunt Megan, Nina, Logan, and Zoe for a few days in early June.  We got to play at a Splash Park and cool off for a bit.  It took awhile for Emersen to become comfortable around all the spraying water, but after watching Logan and Zoe run through the 'sprayers' she was ready to try!

We also got to see Logan and Zoe at their ballerina class.  They did a great job!

And of course we played A LOT!! One day, I came into the playroom because it was awfully quiet and I found Emersen covered with stickers!!

Splish Splash~Rainy Day Fun

What to do in the rain when your toddler loves, loves playing outside? Break out the bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and rain boots!! This is how we spent a Sunday evening recently.  The bubbles and sidewalk chalk were fun; however, Emersen definitely loved the puddles more than anything!

Mother's Day 2012 ( a little bit late)

Well, I really can't believe that I am so late in posting our Mother's Day blog entry, but here it is anyway.....
Emersen and I surprised my Mom and Megan by heading up to Indiana for the weekend.  The drive was rather eventful, as Eme had another ear infection and ended up having an allergic reaction to her antibiotic.  Thankfully, she was okay and was able to enjoy the remainder of the weekend.  As  you can tell, the girls had a great time together.

Eating out on the patio...I think you can tell who is providing the entertainment :)

As we were getting ready to plant flowers and plants, we found this little guy "Stuart Little", as well as his other family members in one of the containers. Needless to say, the girls and I went running and screaming until I realized how tiny (harmless) they were.

After removing the mouse family, we had a great time getting dirty!!

Working together :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Memorial Day 2012

Boy, was it a hot Memorial Day weekend! We were very thankful to have nice weather, but the heat was just a little too much. However, we found ways to stay cool and have fun outside.

Eme was not too sure about the bikini look, but she at least let me take a few photos, before asking to put her shirt on!! :)

Cooling off in the shade and building a tower with blocks

Boy, it is way too hot to keep throwing these balls into the goal.

Finger Painting our favorite characters~Sesame Street characters!!

The finished product....with a little help from Mom and Dad

Fun at the park...Martin's largest pinecone (we think!!)

Just swinging....to feel a little bit of a breeze. Emersen is sporting one of her new favorite hair accessories, a headband! :)

Pool time!

Hip Hip Hooray for Summer!!! We got to enjoy the warm weather last weekend and we celebrated with our new pool!! As you can tell, Emersen had a great time! She wasn't too sure about a bathing suit for some reason so as you look at all the pictures, I'm sure that you will notice the one with her belly! She was so out of sorts about getting her 'shirt' wet, so she just decided to roll it up!! Haha! Here's to a wonderful summer full of outdoor play time!!

Toddle Time

Emersen was involved in Toddle Time for the past five weeks.  It was a class held at the local gymnastics building and the toddlers just got to basically play, run, swing, jump, and slide for 45 min. every morning. It was a great workout for Eme as well as for me!! Here are some shots, but you will have to forgive the 'focus' in some of them because it is really hard to take pictures while holding on to her (or chasing her) :)
