Happy Easter!

Cousins! Zoe, Emersen, and Logan had a great time hunting for Easter eggs even though it was rainy and wet. Getting them to sit still for a group shot was another story.....

Fun at the park

So a few weeks ago I decided to take Emersen to the playground at the Primary School (which is across the street from my school). They have grades preK-2 so I figured that the equipment would be more her size. Well, as you can tell from the photos, she loved it! They have 4-5 large play structures, but we typically just stick to one since the others have rock/pebbles on the ground and she has a 'taste' for rocks currently. :)

More birthday fun..

Here are a few photos that I forgot to upload last week from Emersen's birthday weekend.

Here is Emersen's birthday sign. We had a couple of rainy days for spring break so she helped finger paint all of the letters in 'Happy Birthday'. Don't worry, making birthday signs definitely won't turn in to a day job for me!! haha! (No idea why this text is blue or underlined either).

Emersen decided to help me in the kitchen while I baked her cake and the cupcakes...and before we were able to put on the cabinet locks.

12 month checkup

Emersen and I headed off to the doctor's Friday afternoon for her 12 month checkup (and 2 vaccinations). At 12 months she:

-weighs 23.2 pounds (80%)

-is 30.8 inches long (92%)

-has a head circumference of 48.0cm (>97%!!!)

-has 4 bottom teeth, 3 (and almost 1 more) upper teeth

-cruises around all of the furniture

-stands alone for quite a while

-likes to 'walk' holding your hand

-loves to climb in, out, over, through....

-loves to be outside

-says 'dada' and 'uh-oh'

-likes to take toys off of things (such as a chair) and then bend and pick them up over and over again :)

-likes to dance and bob her head to music

What an amazing day! It is hard to believe that our little girl is now 1! The weather was beautiful so we were able to have our party outside. Emersen loved playing in the ball pit....

And then, finally it was time to enjoy the cake!!

Emersen was such a 'dainty' eater. She would stick her finger in the frosting and lick it off over and over, but never really dug into the cake. I helped her a little bit so that she could actually get a taste of the cake (banana).

Not too messy either....:)

We had a wonderful day celebrating with MiMi, MawMaw, and Dzia Dzia! Soon Emersen will get to celebrate with more family and she is looking forward to their visits!

We head to the doctor for our 1 year well-check on Friday so I will be sure to post our new "stats" :).
