Crawling through..

This is how she starts....

Almost through....
And she made it through!!!

Emersen has found a new use for the exer-saucer and her music table. She crawls through them!! I haven't been able to get a picture of her crawling under the music table, but here are some from the exer-saucer. So I guess her new skill from last week would be learning how to crawl under/through things?!?

Warm Weekend Weather

Last weekend we were able to get out and enjoy some warm weather. It was hard to believe that it was so warm in Februar! We took Emersen on a stroller walk in the park near our house. It was so warm so we decided to let her crawl around on the grass. However, she did not enjoy touching the dead grass at all, nor did she really like the pinecone that was on the ground!! It was really funny to see her reaction. We brought along a blanket so we put in on the ground for her to sit on and she would crawl to the edge, reach out and touch the grass, and then scoot back onto the blanket. Guess we will have to wait until the grass becomes greener to see how she likes that texture! :)

Food boycott or independence?

Recently in the past few weeks Emersen has become frustrated at meal times at home. I thought at first this could be related to her congestion and ear infection. Also, we have had quite a few incidences of her getting sick and I will spare you the details (but just know we keep her room basically covered with towels ready for the next accident).
But get this: she does eat her veggies/fruits/cereal at school, but for some reason not with me. ?!?hmmmmmmm.
Although at home she still will eat finger foods such as cheerios and puffs.

The other night I just put some sweet potato pieces on her tray and tried to spoon-feed some cereal, but to no avail. So I just gave up and put the bowl with a spoon on her tray and walked away acting like I was not watching. Well, she was trying to feed herself!! :) Mainly with her fingers in the bowl, but still..
So, I think maybe she wants some more independence at meal times??

10 months!

Oh boy am I late posting about Emersen's 10 month stats/activities.....
So at 10 months she:
*Is still in 12-18 months (as well as just 18 months) clothes and pajamas
*Is still wearing size 3 diapers...although size 4's at night and soon to be during the day
*Has a shoe size of b/w a 3 and 4 I think (I used a ruler on the inch side to measure and it was almost to the 4" mark)
*Is a master at pulling up....especially on the DVD bookcases!! haha!
*Loves throwing things on the ground. For example, I will put the laundry on the couch to fold and within a matter of seconds she has tossed everything onto the floor.
*Loves to "read"
*Will give you things such as a toy, a blanket, her spoon, etc.
*Has had another ear infection (boo!!)
*Now has 5 teeth: 3 on the bottom and 2 on the top (well, if one of them would just completely come down)
*Has mastered putting in/taking out her pacifier
*Can hold her own bottle
*Is developing her own little personality and sense of humor! :)

Superbowl and Snow days

We have had some pretty crazy weather this past week. On Monday, we got out early from school since 3+inches of snow fell. Now, I am sure that sounds funny to some of you, but Martin only has one snowplow (if we have one at all...I am not sure) and lots of country roads, so it was pretty hazardous I guess. We were out Tuesday and Wednesday it just poured snow. Emersendecided a snow day was a perfect day to develop a double ear infection so she and I were off to the doctor in the snowstorm. Thankfully we made it there and back safely and now she is on antibiotics.

Emersen got to enjoy her first Superbowl this year and as you can tell, she wanted to be front and center for all of the action!

Time with Dad...

So the other night I was washing bottles, making dinner, etc. in the kitchen and I decided to take a break and see what Emersen was up to with Trevor in the back of the house. Well, I guess you can tell from the pictures what they were doing!! Yes, that is a little 'Baby Bat' costume. Emersen is not a huge fan of wearing the mask; however, she loves it when one of us wears it. Needless to say, they were having a great time playing together and I guess it was inevitable, right?!
